Peoples Mutual Insurance Association was founded in February 1892 by a group of farmers in the Donnellson Iowa area. Articles of Incorporation were filed and recorded with the State of Iowa for Fire, Lightening, and Windstorm Insurance. Peoples Mutual Insurance Association is now a 518A State Mutual that writes insurance in the counties of Lee, Van Buren, Des Moines, Henry, Davis, Jefferson, Washington, Wapello, Johnson, Louisa, and Muscatine.
It is with pride that this Association can point to the continuance of the organizational mandate which leaves the control of the Association with the policyholders. Peoples Mutual is reinsured with Grinnell Mutual Reinsurance Company, Grinnell Iowa. This strong partnership, along with our strong membership, is key in the success of Peoples Mutual Insurance Association.
